Tzamenkomst - Farming Aspects.

We are no longer running Tzamenkomst. It is being sold to Richard de Vos of Quaggasfontein. At present he is paying occupational rental, and if all goes according to plan the farm will be handed over to him during the first quarter of 2016.

The description below is the situation  when the farm sale deal was signed.

David is now looking at possible future opportunities.

The farm is run by David Roben van Zijl.

Tzamenkomst is basically a sheep farm where Dorper sheep are raised and sold for mutton.

Some cattle are run mainly to provide milk for the household and workers on the farm.

A variable number of Springbuck run on the farm, and are culled annually. There are also some warthog, and sometimes Mountain Reedbuck, as well as smaller animals.

David has restored many of the lands along the Seacow River, and is growing vegetables for sale to supplement his income, and pasture crops to fatten the sheep.
